One of the most important aspects of the LookTiny platform is short link and QR code management and understanding all of the powerful features we offer so you can maximize the use of our platform. Here you will find everything you need to know about short link and QR code management. Also, have a look at our full feature list, here.
Short Link Help Categories
-
Link
- Here is where you set your destination URL where you want your short link and/or QR code to redirect to. This can
be any valid URL. You can also add mobile deep links (if available on your plan) here as well. Our platform also supports any applicable URL parameters which can also be included as part of your URL. Our short link generator supports bulk creation of up to 10 links at a time.

Domain
- Here you will select the domain name you would like to use to build your short link. All of your available domains are shown here. By default, you will see all of our shared domains. In addition, any custom domains you have added to our platform will be displayed here as well. Once a short link is created you will not be able to modify the domain name. The domain name selected here will define the base part of your short link.

Alias
- Your alias is your short link unique identifier. You can specify a custom alias here or you can leave this blank and our system will fill one in for you. This identifier is built in to your short link and is how we track everything for you. This is the link you will share with others which will redirect back to your destination link.

Space
-
Think of spaces, also known as tags, as digital filing folders. You can leverage them to better organize, color code, and group your links by category which will make them easier to find and manager later on. Then, you can filter, sort, and report on all of your spaces.
Every time you add or edit one of your links you will see a drop down list of your current spaces. Simply select the applicable space to attach it to a link. Currently, our system only allows one space per link.

Password (Links)
- Here you can add a password to your short link. This will display a prompt for users visiting your short link and will request a password before redirecting them to the destination. If they enter an incorrect password they will not be redirected and cannot see the destination URL. They will only be redirected upon entering the correct password.

Expiration Date / Time
- Specify a date and time you would like your short link to expire. Once expired, visitors will receive a message stating the link has expired and is no longer valid. They will not be redirected to the source destination. If an expiration link is defined (see below) then our system will instead redirect visitors to the specified link and will not display a message to visitors.
Note: expiration date and time is based on the time zone set within your account profile. Once a link expires stats are no longer recorded.

Expiration Link
-
Here you can specify a destination to redirect traffic to after your short link has expired. If left blank, our system will display a message to users letting them no that the link has expired and is no longer available.

-
Clicks (Expiration)
- Here you can set a number of clicks to determine when your link expires. After that number is reached your short link will automatically expire.

Stats
- Here you can set your preference for your short links stats page. By default, all stats pages are set to private, meaning, only you have access to the link stats page. You can also set the visibility to public which will allow you to share the stats page. Anyone with the link will be able to access the stats for the given link. Lastly, you can set your stats page to password and you can set a password. Visitors will be required to enter a valid password to view the applicable stats page.

Targeting
- Short link retargeting is another powerful feature we offer on all plans. With link retargeting you can retarget short link traffic based on country, platform, language, and a rotation. This allows you even more control and flexibility over your short links and QR codes. See below for additional information on each retargeting option that is available.
Note: you can select any one retargeting option per link. Once a retargeting option is selected, multiple links can be defined, as needed.
- Country
- Here you can retarget your audience based on the detected visitors Country. For each country selected, define a target destination link and our platform will auto detect and redirect any visitor from that country to the specified link. You can set as many countries as you would like. If a country does not match, the visitor will be redirected to the main destination, as specified.
- Platform
- Here you can retarget based on the detected visitors Platform. For example, Windows and/or iOS. You can set as many platforms as are available. If a platform does not match, the visitor will be redirected to the main destination, as specified.
- Language
- Here you can retarget based on the detected visitors Language. You can set as many language preferences as are available. If a language does not match or cannot be detected, the visitor will be redirected to the main destination, as specified.
- Rotation
- Here you can retarget based on a Rotation. What that means is that you can add as many links that you would like to the rotation. Every time your link is visited our platform will equally rotate through all of your destination links specified within the rotation including your main destination link.
